Pre-Algebra and Algebra with Mrs. Haye

PRE-ALGEBRA INTENsIVE
WITH MRS. HAYE

Sessions are designed to provide advisement and support to sixth and seventh grade students enrolled in a Pre-Algebra math class. An as-needed review of pre-requisite skills as well an introduction of basic Pre-Algebra concepts will include paper and pencil activities, web/technology-use, group interaction, individual and small group advisement and incorporating manipulatives to aid in grasping abstract concepts.

Focus is tailored specifically to your child's math needs.

ALGEBRA 1 INTENSIVE
WITH MRS. HAYE

Sessions designed to provide advisement and support to seventh and eighth grade students enrolled in an Algebra 1 math class. An as-needed review of pre-requisite skills as well as an introduction of basic Algebra I concepts will include paper and pencil activities, web/technology-use, group interaction, individual and small group advisement and incorporating manipulatives to aid in grasping abstract concepts.

Focus is tailored specifically to your child's math needs.

Days: Tuesday
Time: 3:30-4:30pm, 4-5pm or 4:30-5:30pm
Cost: $35 per session for five pre-paid sessions or $40 per pay-as-you-go session

Mathematics (Algebra 1, Pre-Algebra)

Mrs. Haye (formerly Ms. Welch) began her career teaching mathematics in Monterey County in 2002. She joined Pioneer Middle School in 2004 and has since taught both honors and college prep levels of Algebra and Pre-Algebra. She has served a number of years on the leadership team as department chair and calendar and scheduling chair. Three years after joining the Pioneer staff, she pursued a Masters in Educational Technology and today continues to explore various aspects of technology and online learning with her students. Having worked with students at all levels and from varying walks of life, she believes that all students have the capacity to be successful in math. She seeks to understand each student's unique learning styles and challenges in order to best meet his/her needs. Mrs. Haye loves the opportunity to work one-on-one or in small group settings and develops a personal connection with her students to help them to grow in both skills and confidence in their own "math abilities".
